Privacy policy
This policy explains what [Your name or business name] ("we") collects when you use SectionCalc Pro at https://sectioncalc.in, and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) form of your password. We never store your password itself.
- Activation and free trial: whether you have activated your email address, when your free trial started and ended, and how many sections and parts you entered during it. We keep a record of email addresses that have used the free trial, even after an account is deleted, so each address gets one trial.
- Plan and payment records: the plan you bought, the amount, dates and the Razorpay order and payment references. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach our servers.
- Education requests: the institution, course and ID number you send so we can check eligibility.
- Feedback: the message, rating and optional email you send, basic technical details (app version, browser, screen size, units) and, only if you tick the box, the section you attach. We use it to answer you and improve the service.
- Section data for reports: when you create a Word or PDF report, the section data and your report header (company name, address, logo and project name) are sent to our server to build the file. We don't keep it after the file is made.
- Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, time and page requested) used for security and fixing faults.
What stays on your device
Your projects and your report header (company name, address and logo) are saved in your browser and in files you save yourself. We don't upload or store them.
Emails
We send you an activation email when you sign up. We don't send newsletters or marketing emails.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use your data
To run your account, deliver the plan you paid for, process payments and refunds, answer support requests, keep the service secure, and meet tax and accounting rules. We don't sell your data.
Who we share it with
Razorpay (payment processing) and our hosting provider (DigitalOcean). We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires (in India, generally 8 years), even after an account is deleted.
Your choices
You can change your password or delete your account at any time from the account menu. For any other request, email [support@sectioncalc.in or your email].
